Paul Badura-Skoda
Paul Badura-Skoda, bom in Wien, began his musical studies in his town. In May 1947 the "Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde" organised an Austrian Musical Contest, and Paul Badura-Skoda won the first prize, correspondent to a scholarship for the Interpretation Courses of Fischer at Lucerne. The meeting with this great musician was fundamental for the young artist, and influenced his artistic orientation. Already in 1949 FurtwAngler and Karajan were impressed by the talent of the young artist, and from here a great career begun, that brought Paul Badura-Skoda in the greatest concert halls of the world, in European and American recording studios and, after, in the television studios of the most different countries of the world. Today Paul Badura-Skoda is considered one of the most outstanding pianists of our time.
