Bergamo
is 40 minutes far from Briosco. We directly reach the high town,
that is the monumental part of the city. The itinerary can be as
follows:

Visit of the Piazza Vecchia
with the Church of Santa
Maria Maggiore, the Baptistery and the
Cappella Colleoni.

We visit after Donizetti’s native house, normally closed to the public.

Visit of Palazzo Terzi,
with the magnificent honour hall and the precious parlour of the
mirrors. It is still the residence of the Terzi family, and it is
opened only for particular occasions.

Lunch, always in the high Bergamo, can be at Restaurant
“L’Agnello d’Oro”, famous for its typical cooking.

Visit of Palazzo Moroni,
built in 17th century by Francesco Moroni, who asked to Giangiacomo
Bardelli to decorate the interiors. The first floor, which can be
reached with a flight of steps entirely frescoed, keeps all the
furniture and masterpieces that
testimony the passion of the family for the art collections,
with pieces of Luini, Moroni, Baschenis, Fra’ Galgario. Also the
visit of the wonderful garden is of great interest.

Visit of Palazzo Agliardi,
with the ceilings decorated by 18th century frescoes, and the charming
central hall facing on the hanging garden. It is private, property
of the Agliardi family. The three palaces: Terzi, Moroni and Agliardi
are considered as three jewels of the Lombard architecture, and
are extremely important for the collection sod furniture and paintings
which are kept.

Visit of the museo donizettiano,
where musical instruments, handwritings and souvenirs of the Maestro
are kept.

Visit of the Accademia Carrara,
one of the most rich picture-galleries in Lombardy. Paintings by
Lorenzo Lotto are famous.
- The
return to Villa Medici is for the evening.
