Il Teatrino

The Teatrino

The Teatrino represents the completion of the manor and it is dedicated in particular to music. The access to the Teatrino is from the Italian garden.

The interior and the stage are made of spruce wood and the room has a natural acoustics ideal for concerts, especially those dedicated to the historical instruments of the collection housed in Villa Medici Giulini. The hall is completed by a large panel representing the myth of Orpheus. The night lighting makes the avenues around the Teatrino, where music is diffused, particularly suggestive.

Fernanda Giulini tells how she came to the decision to create the Teatrino. “A lot of public concerts have been organized since the beginning of the collection, and my thanks go in particular to the Poldi Pezzoli Museum which received for its first performance after the restoration every single instrument. The union of art and music was automatic and the emotion was renewed at every concert. The Teatrino was motivated by the desire to realize, in the context of Villa Medici Giulini, events based on the knowledge of the historical instruments as well as the fact that a home of artists could not miss a Teatrino”.

The hall is multipurpose and can host different activities: conferences, private concerts, events and receptions to celebrate anniversaries. Furthermore, audio and video recordings, wedding as well as fashion shows could take place in the Teatrino.
